March 2009 - Shattered Reality Book Tour: Meet Kimberly Cheryl

For the last 8 years, the one school program that my husband has been "required" to attend with our growing children in the Dr Suess's Read Across America program.  Not because I don't enjoy reading because I can always be found with a book in hand but because I HATE crowds.  Especially insanity of little people running around screaming.  Well, this past Friday was our school district's Read Across America (March 2nd is Dr Suess's Birthday) celebration and party for over 550 first through 3rd graders.  The school's cafeteria and gymnasium was packed with parents, students, and younger siblings in strollers.

I tried my best to ignore all the emails going to the parents seeking help at the various booths.

Don't get me wrong - I have participated in all field trips, as a room parent, as a scout assistant, etc. but this is just one over sized event I did not care to volunteer for.  Unbeknownst to me, my favorite (and only) son who is a Beta Club Member not only signed himself up to work at a game booth but he was nice enough to volunteer me as well.  So Friday night, along with 1000 other parents trying to find a parking spot on our small school lot, I wearily approached our elementary school.  I worked the registration and Free Book hand out section as my son and his best friend put on fuzzy red costumes, blue curly hair and marched around for two hours as Thing One and Thing 2.  (I'm truly greatful he didn't sign me up to be the Cat in the Hat! :)

My point?  We spend so much time encouraging our kids to read - when was the last time you picked up a good book?  (and not Good Night Moon for the millionth time if you have kids - although it is one of my favorites) Why not pick one up and start a new book today?

One of my favorite Quotes: I have learned that success is to be measured not so much by the position that one has reached in life as by the obstacles which he has overcome while trying to succeed. (Booker T. Washington)

Well, we have been facing one HUGE obstacle - that of Child Sexual Assault and the unwillingness of a Prosecuting Attorney's office to prosecute a repeat offender.

April is Sexual Assault Awareness and Child Abuse Prevention Month...so to heighten awareness and ask for your help in Protecting Children, I'd Love to have you participate and share your ideas, thoughts and concerns on my Book Tour for  Shattered Reality by Kimberly Cheryl.  (Buy Your Copy Today at Amazon.com)

Dr Suess epitomizes a love of children and learning.   Through Shattered, you can not only learn about Child abuse, it's prevalence in the U.S., prevention and the resources available, you can also Help the Children....

Join the discussions, enjoy the fun, read the reviews, follow the interviews and share!  TOGETHER we can make the difference in the lives of our children!

I can't wait to see you at one of the following sites this Month -

Communication and Conflict: Propaganda, Spin and Lobbying in the global age

Propaganda, spin and lobbying are increasingly the topic of public and media debate. From the attempt to construct a ‘threat’ from Weapons of Mass Destruction, through the razzmatazz of political campaigning to the regular scandals about improper corporate influence on policy the relationship between communication, conflict and power is back on the academic research agenda.

The Department of Geography and Sociology is pleased to announce an international conference on Communication and conflict, to be held in Glasgow on 7-9 September 2007.

I have to agree with Rhema Vaithianathan’s comment’s. It is when “profit” gets involved that we begin to have a problem with our system. And unfortunately, when companies do raise a profit, they don’t spend it where it is needed most. They waste it needlessly. Do we not realize that in the long run it is cheaper to provide preventative care like immunizations and antibiotics for bronchitis BEFORE it turns into a life threatening problem that eats up the hospital’s funds? And in the end, if you are forced to use a hospital’s ER at 4 times the cost of a doctor’s office visit because you can’t afford the preventative care it is all of us who end up paying the bill in the end regardless?
I can’t say I want a government run program but we need to take the huge profit margins out of the insurance and pharmaceutical company’s pockets and put control back into the patient and physician’s hands. Who knows our body, our pain, our sickness and what’s better for us than the patient and his/her physician? Definitely not a paper pusher at an insurance company who can’t pronounce your problem, has never seen you before, knows nothing of your disease state and only wants to save the company money by neglecting your care.
To learn more about The Pharmaceutical industry and it’s impact on our health care system - pick up my new book at Amazon.com - Escape from the Pharma Drug Cartel - We need reform in this country and we need it soon!!

Market yourself to the max. Land more interviews. Do you know what separates the top sales people in any given industry? If you could take two hours to read a book that would help you get the job you want, would you take the time to read it? Sadly, most average people don't take the time to read the books that will help them. It's always the top sales people who invest in their trade; who sharpen their ax constantly. Can you spare the time and make an investment in your future? The purpose of this book is to help you become the best of the best and to help you start preparing for your pharmaceutical / medical sales career NOW! For those of you contemplating pharmaceutical / medical product sales as a profession, this book will give you a foundation on which to build your career. Why is this the book for you? As a pharmaceutical sales representative with 18 years of experience in the industry, I have been a specialty representative, a hospital rep, a product sales instructor, a managed care sales rep and a temporary district manager and I know the industry. This book will cover everything from networking and interview techniques to the importance of attitude and behavior. You see, the greatest sales people, yesterday and today, possess certain traits on which I have always focused my success on. They have a special winning attitude that propels them to success. To be truly valued and successful in the pharmaceutical industry, this is where to start.

What Has Been Said About Kimberly's Books?

5.0 out of 5 stars Incredible Journey, November 7, 2007
I'm not quite sure what I expected when I first picked up this book. I was just interested in maybe entering the Pharma Industry. The story changed my interests and changed my opinions on the Pharmaceutical Industry as a whole. It was a wonderful quick, easy read and very enjoyable. I usually have two or three books going at the same time because I become distracted and don't have the time to finish anything. Not true for this story - finished in two nights and had my eyes opened to many new things to ponder on my next doctor's visit! Passed it along to my mom and sister to read as well.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Book, January 14, 2008 (Are Your Habits Killing YOU?)
By  Anne (St. Louis, MO)
I have had the pleasure of LISTENING to this author, but haven't gotten a chance to READ anything by her - until now! Haven't finished the book yet, but what I have read so far is great!
